Sprint 5 Mobile Game

 Sprint 5

Nepo Society

For sprint 5 I didn’t work on software. I finished up two documents that were a really important part of the game and that was having scenarios/events that will happen to the players each time they are in gameplay. For this we are still discussing if the 50 scenarios are shuffled into each gameplay so numbers 20 through 30 events will be selected throughout the pool so each gaming session feels different. Each answer has different endings that makes the game show more variety then just copy and paste. So how the questions work is by selecting (A) is making the player accept or doing whatever scenario/event the player is in. The player that selects (B) is taking the safest route with each event, because we wanted it to make the user feel like the risk is too high for them and see if they wanted to risk it or play it safe. Lastly if the player selects C they are backing out of whatever event or they are playing it the safest as a safe person can be. The next idea that comes with these selections are the percentage of the outcomes that the events come with. The percentages are spread around to have different odds for each scenario; having this the player will be left clueless on what they are going to go through on each selection. The C option focuses stats, but some do have a percentage but still most of the time it's just going to show a +/- to a stat that the players have. The stat the player will boost up or down will focus the stat that the scenario closely matches like in the picture stock scenario matches the mind having the player do decision making on what they want to do.

Here is an example of the first one that we have and each scenario/event has dialogue for how it starts when you are facing an event. Decided to go with that idea to kinda have some type of creation of your own story and you can see what type of life your nepo character went through. I really liked the idea of making it have that imagination and trying to see what the character is going through every time an event happens. This was good, but I went on to give the player different answer dialogues so it feels like you are the person in the game instead of just playing an ordinary phone game. Making each one have different sayings and say different dialogue gives the game more instead of just repeating the same lines every time through gameplay.

The events will have dialogue for each answer and each percentage option they obtain. If the player selects (A) shown in the example above you will be faced with the percentage. Shown if the player gets the 25% part they will get a dialogue that is relevant to what just happened. Same thing goes for the 75% making it feel more responsive and give feedback to the player on if the option they chose came to be good or made them scratch their head and be thinking like “what was i thinking about picking that option.” Having this all complete will make the next playtest a success, making the player get locked in and seeing how far they can go in life instead of just clicking buttons in the last playtest that my team had. My team is ready and set to take a big leap in this sprint and make this mobile game happen.
