Sprint 3

 Sprint 3 Review

Sprint 3 coming to an end. I worked on the last scenes that we needed for our game. I also vertex colored the scenes so when texturing is going to be applied it will help out the process by preventing me from using the polygon fill tool each time. Another task that I completed was to uv everything in each scene to have a faster process to texture. When I get assigned for the next sprint, I'll be ahead of schedule to complete each task that involves texturing each scene. Getting back to this sprint the first thing I want to talk about is the strength scene that I made having everything that involves that stat, so the player feels like they are building strength digitally.

The scene was something moderate to make. I didn't know how to approach the bar holder, so I did research, and I created it and the model came out well. The problem that came to this scene was that I wasn't able to un-fold the benches UV’s in with the gym scene. While working on this blog I relooked at the error again and finally found the solution to my problem. The bench has two faces that I guess I missed this whole time making it impossible for me to unfold the uv set into a gym uv set. This is great news for the team not having a small step back to remake the model and re UV. This scene will appear when the player wants to work on the strength stat. The next scene that I created was for the stat charisma. For this scene me and the team decided to go for a ted talk of a vibe and I created a little scene so the character in game looks like he's speaking out to a group of people to help them build up that stat.

Creating this scene was simple, creating the layout before building the scene up to know what I wanted to apply to what people see when playing the game. So for the model seen in the middle in front of the stage since the game is called nepo society I want to add lettering engraved to say Nepotalk a knock off so we don’t get in trouble for using it. Another idea was for the two tvs shown behind to put decals to project fake news so it makes the scene fit perfect so the player feels like they are projecting things that have happened in their lifecycle. The final scene that wraps it up for the game for the stats is the dexterity scene basically having the definition being speed. I made a fighting gym scene having a ring and punching bags so the player can work on quickness for the real world.

The team wanted a scene like this so first I attacked the punching bag, and I had never done a model like the punching bag before so I watched a video for help. It helped a lot but the only thing that didn’t work for me was the tool that they show in the video called Conform. I will be doing research on what this tool does and how to apply at the right time when building a model. Another part of the model was the chain was a quick search. I remembered how it was done, but it was to make it perfect so it didn’t look horrible or run into an error while making. The problem I had for this scene was I wanted to make rope and I watched videos, but the one thing that I haven’t got down was the curve tools. I need to practice that and learn what each curve tool is used for and when to use it. I really wanted to get rope for the ring but cylinders are what I have to work with for now.
