Wilderness Expedition: Run, Slide, Jump, and Survive
Mechanics: Jumping, Environmental Hazards, Platforming
Jumping in my level will help the player get from one place to another. To allow players to get comfortable with the mechanism they are only allowed to go up or down. Jumping will also be used as a mechanic to jump on platforms to go across places without having the character just walk off an edge or fall into water.
Environmental Hazard is my other mechanic which has the player trying to avoid drowning. The player has lily pads to jump on but if they stand on them for too long the player will start sinking so they have to react quickly before they are doomed.
Platforming is my new mechanic added with the player wall running from platform to platform in the map and also having sliding, letting the player go under tree logs to stay on track on where to go.
My concept for the first map SafeSafeForest was to let the player test out the two mechanics jumping and environmental hazard in an easy and fun way. They will jump across platform to platform and also across lily pads to complete the first section of the forest, but one thing to keep in mind is don't drown.
The Colors were picked to fulfill this beautiful forest with nice green trees to nice blue water. The lily pads make the map pop with its nice green color and goes great with the water that they were placed in.

Chaotic Forest
Summary/Description of Chaotic Forest
For this level I want the player to get used to the mechanics and test them at the end with the wall running portion on the mountain with water below. On the mountain platforms the player either has to go right or left while going through the mountain but there's a twist: if the player goes right, they will be met with a trap. Once entering the location rocks will close off the area they entered, and water will start flowing in and causing them drowning. The left side of the mountain will have the player end off with rocks surrounding an entrance to a cave resulting in the player entering and seeing what it holds inside.
Color Palette for the colors selected for the second map I chose to have grey to indicate a mountain. For the selection of pink, I wanted to have the platforms standout so that people could see them and not be confused if they were the same color as the floor. Those two are the newest colors and the other ones stayed the same besides the dirt made it look different making it look like a new biome.
